GBA SP can only fit ~900mah. A true1600mah battery will be double in height for that SP! Red light comes on when a good battery(3.7v) drains and GBA SP registers voltage drop close ~2.1v
A gba sp used to have 15 to 20 hours going. A n3dsxl for example has about 3 to 4.5 hours. Over time we got used to terrible battery life and good backlight screens. So even if you have an old gba sp battery and do an ips mod you probably still get 4 hours or so. For pocket you should do a mod cause AAA batteries won't but it anymore.
Fans also loved that the Game Boy Advance was backward compatible with Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. The Game Boy Advance sold over 80 million units before being discontinued in 2009. So I have been playing a lot of Pokemon Yellow on my Game Boy Advance SP, model 001, unmodded. I've noticed that the battery lasts less than 3 hours when using the frontlight all the time, is this normal? Or does it need a new battery? No, that's very low. Replace it.

Unplugging it does not turn it back on, only unplugging and flipping the switch off/on fixes it. With the charger plugged in, there are 0.7 volts present at the battery terminals in the Gameboy. It's as if it never tries to charge the battery. No matter if there is a battery present in the system, or the position of the on/off switch, it pulls
Hi, basically in my Gameboy Advance SP the speaker is 80% of the time low-volume and changing the volume potentiometer doesn't affect that, then randomly it raises to maximum volume and even the potentiometer seems to work (kinda)..
Let's compare the energy densities of the battery types:. Alkaline battery, 1.8 MJ/L; Lithium-ion, 2.36 MJ/L (best case) Lithium battery, 4.32 MJ/L; Therefore, if a Gameboy lasted 10 hours on Alkaline batteries, in theory it would last 40.3 hours on Lithium (primary, non-rechargeable), or 20.4 hours on Lithium-ion batteries that occupied the same physical space.
